The cause may be air in the pump body or air accumulation in the inlet pipe, or the bottom valve is not closing properly, leading to unsatisfactory suction, or the pump packing is leaking severely, or the gate valve or check valve is not closing tightly. Solution: First, increase the water pressure, then fill the pump body with water, and then start the machine. At the same time, check if the check valve is tight, and whether there are any leaks in the pipes or joints. If a leak is found, disassemble and apply lubricant or sealing paint at the joint, and tighten the screws. Check the oil seal ring of the pump shaft; if it is severely worn, it should be replaced with a new one. There may be water or air leaks in the pipes, possibly due to loose nuts during installation. If the leakage is not severe, you can apply sealing clay at the leaking area, or use a mixture of tar and sealing clay. For temporary repairs, you can apply wet mud or soft alkali. If there is a leak at the joint, you can use a board to tighten the nut; if the leak is severe, it is necessary to disassemble and replace any cracked pipes; reduce the lift by submerging the pump outlet 0.5m underwater.
